Meet the Doctor

Dr. Antoinette M. Pettitt is a specialist in surgical and non-surgical endodontics. An endodontist is a dentist with advanced training in treating the diseased or damaged inner tissues of your teeth. Endodontic therapy may also be needed for restorative reasons. This type of treatment consist of removing the diseased tissue from within the tooth, enlarging the space and then replacing the removed mass with a biocompatible material.

Doctor A. PettittA native Chicagoan, she followed in her father’s footsteps in becoming a dentist and in attending the University of Illinois Dental School where she graduated in 1981. Her advanced school training in endodontics was completed in 1988 at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California. She is Board Certified-Diplomate. She has professional affiliations in the National Dental Association, Lincoln Dental Society, Illinois Dental Society, American Board of Endodontics and the American Association of Endodontics.

Dr. Pettitt and staff provide personalized care. Her “patient care” philosophy is one of doctor patient interaction which includes providing information on treatment alternatives and treatment explanations. She believes that patients should have an understanding of their dental treatment and needs. After any necessary consultations, Dr. Pettitt works with the referring practitioner and patient to design a treatment plan that’s tailored specifically to their dental needs.

Dr. Pettitt also works at the VA clinic and enjoys practicing with her father who is a general dentist.

When not practicing endodontics, Dr. Pettitt has a special interest in academics, literature reviews, and enjoys classical jazz, running, fishing, swimming and other outside activities.
